General
information:
Our Workshops are very different to any others that are advertised,
because they are 100% practicalCourses, designed to help
people to dramatically improve their skills.
Everything you
learn will be relevant to your own needs, and you'll learn how to produce
creative, technically sound, dynamic pictures. All you'll then need
is to practice what you've learned. And if you have any queries in the
future you simply ring up and pick my brains!
Will a one day
course turn you into an expert photographer?
No it won't. It's a bit like learning to drive a car - you start off
'knowing' about driving by watching other people drive, then you learn
from an expert who teaches you the skills you need to pass the test.
Then you spend the rest of your life improving your driving skills.
Photography is a skill too, we provide the knowledge you need and you
then improve your skills with practice and experience.
Who
are the Workshops for? Mostly, the people who come here are keen amateur
photographers who understand the basics of photography and now want
to learn about studio photography and lighting in general or who want
to specialise in one particular aspect of it, and some of our students
are professional photographers who want to increase the range of work
that they can take on.
Our corporate clients are mainly businesses who have their own
in-house photography studio and who need help to raise their standards
so that they can produce professional quality results for their websites
or brochures.
Are
our workshops suitable for beginners? Yes. It doesn't matter how much or how little
you know, I'll tailor your training to your exact needs and to your
level of knowledge.
What
facilities do we have?
Our studio measures over 2,200 square feet and is fitted with various
backgrounds plus a roomset, which we use mainly for photographing furniture
and fashion.
How long does the
Workshop last?
1 day, normally 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Why only 1 day?
Some other people offer 2 day or even 2 week courses
Because
our courses are 100% individual, they are individually tailored to what
YOU need to learn, not to what other people want to learn.
And because we will supply you with a free set
of our full set of technical
tutorials on disk (over 600 pages) we won't waste your time with
background technical info that you can read through later. And, where
we have one relevant to your subject, you'll also get a free copy of
our video training course.
People are amazed at just how much they've learned and at the quality
they can achieve - we strip away all the mystique and nonsense and teach
you how it's really done. Once you understand the principles and how
to approach studio photography you'll find that it's really simple and
you'll get outstanding results.
Do
we offer different types of training? Yes, because every Workshop is tailored to the
exact needs of the individual, which means that we will cover exactly
what you want to learn.
Can
more than 1 person attend the workshop?
Yes, up to 4 people can
attend on one booking, and there is no extra charge for the extra people.
If you want to bring your partner or friends with you then ideally you
should all have a similar level of studio experience because your workshop
will need to be tailored to suit the person who has the least experience.
Why do we only
provide expensive individual training? Why not provide group courses?
Because learning in a group is a waste of time and money - you'd spend
half your time being taught things you already know and the other half
being taught things you don't need to know.
When
will the next lighting workshop be held?
It can be arranged for any time convenient to you, subject to our work
diary.
How
much does it cost?
£470,
except for the wedding photography course and
for corporate training.
By attending one of our courses you'll
be able to save far more than the cost, because you'll learn exactly
what you need to learn and you'll find out exactly which items of equipment
you need to buy and, equally importantly, which items you don't
need!
